My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house as a believer, and the believing men and believing women. (The supplication portion of Surah Nuh 71:28.)
Dua (supplication) is calling upon Allah - in need, in gratitude, and in every moment. Allah says: 'And your Lord says: Call upon Me; I will respond to you' (Surah Ghafir 40:60). The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Dua is worship' (at-Tirmidhi 2969). There is no fixed wording required - you may ask Allah in any language - but the duas taught by the Prophet are the most complete.
The manners of dua
Begin by praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet, face the qiblah if you can, raise your hands, ask with certainty that Allah will answer, and be persistent without being hasty for the response. The Prophet said a servant is answered as long as he is not hasty, saying 'I called but was not answered' (al-Bukhari 6340).
When are duas answered?
Among the times hope is greatest: the last third of the night, between the adhan and iqamah, while prostrating, during rain, the last hour of Friday, and when fasting. Allah may answer by giving what was asked, averting a harm, or storing a reward - so no sincere dua is ever wasted.
Only verified, sourced duas
Every dua in this library follows a strict standard: the Arabic is taken letter-for-letter from its source, every citation links directly to the exact hadith on sunnah.com or the exact verse on quran.com, and each hadith-based dua shows its authenticity grade, naming the grading scholar for the Sunan collections. Where respected graders genuinely disagree - one calling a narration sound and another weak - both positions are shown so you can decide with your own scholar. Duas that could not be verified against a sahih or hasan source are left out rather than included on hope. This matters because supplications are worship: what we put on your tongue should be exactly what was transmitted, no more and no less.
Using this library
Browse by category - morning and evening, prayer, protection, travel, family, and more - or search in any script: type transliteration ('bismillah'), the English meaning, the source ('Bukhari'), or Arabic with or without vowel marks. Star the duas you are memorizing and they gather under Favorites on this device. The dua of the day rotates daily - the same dua for everyone, a gentle shared rhythm. One tap copies the Arabic with its transliteration and source for sharing, and every citation is a link: tap it to read the full hadith or verse in context. Nothing you do here leaves your browser.
Common questions
Do I have to make dua in Arabic?
+
No. Allah understands every language, so you may supplicate in your own words and tongue. The prophetic duas are encouraged because their wording is complete and blessed, but they are not a condition.
Are these duas authentic?
+
Each dua here lists its source from the Quran or the Sunnah. As with all religious content, this is pending formal scholar review; verify wording with a trusted teacher.
Why was my dua not answered?
+
Allah answers every sincere dua in one of three ways: He grants it, averts a harm of equal measure, or saves its reward for the Hereafter. Patience without haste is part of the etiquette.
Is this private?
+
Yes. The library and search run entirely in your browser; nothing is sent or saved. Free forever, funded as sadaqah.
